Job Overview:
The Senior Supply Chain Assistant position at WFP is crucial for providing specialized support to logistics and procurement operations. The role involves applying WFP's standard processes and norms to ensure efficient and effective food assistance delivery to beneficiaries. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Senior Logistics Associate and will be expected to demonstrate responsibility and initiative in addressing queries and problems independently, while also exercising good judgment in unforeseen situations. This position is designed to support WFP's mission of addressing food insecurity and malnutrition, particularly among vulnerable populations in Colombia, including victims of violence and marginalized communities. The role will require coordination with various stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of supplies and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the Senior Supply Chain Assistant include coordinating requests and ensuring timely delivery of products and supplies to authorized destinations. The incumbent will manage inventory control of food and non-food items stored in logistics service provider warehouses, ensuring compliance with WFP regulations for prompt project support, even during emergencies. They will coordinate with logistics service providers to ensure the availability of personnel and equipment necessary for smooth warehouse operations. Additionally, the role involves maintaining accurate records of inventory movements in the corporate system (LESS) for national food shipments, verifying compliance with safety guidelines, and supporting transportation coordination as required. The assistant will also identify new suppliers for procurement processes, validate information for potential suppliers, and support training and monitoring of suppliers to enhance service delivery. Furthermore, they will conduct price analyses to ensure market-appropriate pricing for beneficiaries.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education and possess a post-secondary certificate in logistics, industrial engineering, administration, finance, economics, accounting, or related fields. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in administrative roles is required, including at least three years in local procurement of products and services or logistics operations. Experience in supplier management, contract execution, budget monitoring, and corporate systems (ERP) is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Excel, data analysis, and report preparation. Experience with humanitarian organizations in supply chain, logistics, or procurement is desirable, as is experience managing costs in supply chains.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes the completion of secondary education, along with a post-secondary certificate in relevant fields such as logistics, industrial engineering, administration, finance, economics, or accounting. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of supply chain management and logistics operations within the humanitarian context.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of experience in administrative roles with increasing responsibilities. This includes at least three years of experience specifically in local procurement of products and services, as well as logistics operations such as transportation, inventory management, and service contracting. Candidates should also have experience in supplier evaluation and contract execution, along with budget monitoring and reporting.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory for this position, with a desirable intermediate level of English. Proficiency in both languages will facilitate effective communication with diverse stakeholders and enhance operational efficiency in a multicultural environment.
