Job Overview:
The Project Support Clerk position is integral to the successful implementation of the Participation, Ownership and Sustainable Progress for Economic Resilience (PROSPER) project, which focuses on promoting local economic development through participatory planning. This role involves providing comprehensive administrative support to ensure that project objectives are met efficiently and effectively. The Project Support Clerk will work closely with the National Project Manager and other ILO specialists, contributing to the project's goals of enhancing skills, entrepreneurship, and sustainable practices within rural and indigenous communities, particularly among women and youth. The position requires a proactive approach to managing administrative tasks, ensuring that all project activities are well-coordinated and aligned with the ILO's standards and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Support Clerk will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, including but not limited to: drafting standard correspondence and formatting various documents related to project activities, such as reports and presentations, in compliance with ILO requirements. The role also involves general office management, providing administrative and logistical support for meetings, seminars, and workshops organized under the project. The clerk will maintain files, databases, and official records related to project activities, ensuring that information is readily accessible. Additionally, the clerk will liaise with other work units to request services necessary for task completion, process administrative arrangements for official travel, and assist in calculating cost estimates for project-related missions. The role includes compiling routine financial data, entering data for transaction classification, and preparing and processing transactions in the ILO's IRIS system, including contracts and travel requests. The clerk will also arrange payments for resource persons and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary school education and possess at least four years of experience in general office management and clerical support work. The role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and proficiency in basic computer software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Reader. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently, manage a heavy workload under time pressure, and maintain attention to detail in all tasks. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, along with customer service skills to provide prompt and efficient responses to clients. Knowledge of administrative document preparation and filing systems is also required, as well as an understanding of non-discrimination and gender equality principles.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary school education. This foundational education is essential for performing the clerical and administrative tasks associated with the role, ensuring that the candidate has the necessary skills to manage office responsibilities effectively.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of four years of relevant experience in general office management and clerical support. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to handle administrative tasks efficiently, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to a team-oriented environment. Previous experience in a project support role or within an international organization would be advantageous, as it would provide familiarity with the specific demands and expectations of such positions.

Languages:
Candidates must possess excellent knowledge of English, as it is the primary language of communication within the ILO. A good working knowledge of Spanish is also required, as it will facilitate communication in the region. Additionally, knowledge of Qéqchi and/or Mopan languages will be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with local communities and stakeholders effectively.

Additional Notes:
This position is a fixed-term contract for one year, with the possibility of extension based on various factors, including the availability of funds and the continuing need for the role. The entry-level salary for this position is 35,794 Belizean dollars annually.
