Job Overview: The Family Support Specialist position is a part-time role (0.9 FTE) with a maximum term until September 30, 202
The role involves working 9 days per fortnight, Monday to Friday, during standard business hours, with one rostered day off every fortnight. The specialist will be part of the Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) team on the Gold Coast, focusing on delivering outreach short-term case management support to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence and/or homelessness due to DFV. Duties and Responsibilities: The Family Support Specialist will be responsible for delivering outreach short-term case management support to women and children impacted by domestic and family violence. Key duties include providing immediate support to affected individuals, conducting risk assessments when DFV is identified, developing strong networks and referral pathways to support desired outcomes, and collecting and recording information for accountability, evaluation, and reporting purposes. The specialist will also be expected to engage with clients empathetically and professionally, ensuring that their needs are met and that they feel supported throughout their journey.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a deep expertise in domestic and family violence and its effects on families and communities. They should have experience working with women, children, and young people who have experienced domestic and family violence.
