Job Overview:
The intern will support the Policy Team of UNEP FI, which focuses on sustainable finance and the alignment of financial institutions with global environmental goals. The intern's role is essential for the team's fundraising, reporting, and coordination efforts, ensuring that operations run smoothly as UNEP FI expands its initiatives. The intern will engage in various tasks related to fundraising, monitoring, and internal operations, contributing to the development of sustainable finance policies that align with the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals. Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's responsibilities will include supporting fundraising activities by conducting donor mapping and landscape analysis, identifying potential contacts for engagement, and maintaining donor profiles in the internal fundraising platform. The intern will also assist in drafting fundraising materials, tracking fundraising pipelines, and developing communication materials for prospective donors. Additionally, the intern will contribute to monitoring and reporting by maintaining a Donor and Implementing Partners Reporting Tracker, ensuring all reporting milestones are recorded, and establishing automated workflows for reporting deadlines. The intern will also assist with administrative tasks related to the Policy Team's operations, coordinate networking activities, and provide general operational support as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in a graduate program, be in the final year of a bachelor's degree program, or have graduated within the last year. A background in international policy, communications, environmental studies, or related fields is preferred. While no professional work experience is required, relevant internships or extracurricular activities in communications or environmental policy are advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate their qualifications through a cover note and proof of enrollment or graduation.

Educational Background:
Candidates should be pursuing or have completed a degree in a relevant field such as international policy, communications, environmental studies, development studies, economics, business administration, or finance. The educational background should align closely with the internship's focus on sustainable finance and environmental policy, ensuring that the intern can contribute effectively to the team's objectives.

Experience:
While no prior professional experience is required for this internship, candidates should ideally have some experience through internships or academic projects related to communications, policy analysis, or environmental studies. This experience will help the intern navigate the responsibilities of the role and contribute meaningfully to the Policy Team's initiatives.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory for this internship, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations. Knowledge of French is also required, and proficiency in another UN language is considered desirable. This linguistic capability will facilitate effective communication within the team and with external stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The internship is expected to last for six months, and it is offered on a non-remunerated basis, meaning that interns will not receive financial compensation. Interns are responsible for their own travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses. Candidates who are not citizens or permanent residents of Switzerland may need to obtain the appropriate visa and work authorization.
