Job Overview: The Consultant for EMIS Application Development will play a crucial role in the maintenance and enhancement of the Education Management Information System (EMIS), which is vital for managing the complete education business processes from student registration to graduation. This position requires the consultant to develop and maintain the Premises Module of EMIS, ensuring that the system is operationally efficient and regularly updated. The consultant will be expected to build new web pages, update existing components, develop reports, and ensure system security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security through regular updates and patches. The role is essential for supporting the educational framework within UNRWA and ensuring that the technology used is up to date and effective in meeting the needs of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Consultant will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the development and maintenance of the EMIS. Key responsibilities include:
Building and updating the EMIS system using ASP.NET, including the development of new functionality for the Premises Module and enhancements as assigned.
Developing the Blended Learning Module to support modern educational practices.
Providing daily support and analyzing system requirements to ensure the EMIS meets the needs of its users.
Conducting bug fixes and quality assurance to maintain system integrity and performance.
Reviewing code and ensuring security testing of new or updated pages to protect sensitive information.
Preparing technical documents and user manuals to assist users in navigating the system.
Delivering a monthly progress report that includes a backlog tracker to monitor ongoing tasks and improvements.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a university degree from an accredited educational institution in computer sciences, information technology, or a related discipline. Additionally, candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in web applications development, specifically using ASP.NET and MS SQL servers. Strong oral and written communication skills in English are essential for this role, as the consultant will need to interact with various stakeholders and document technical processes clearly.

Additional Notes: The consultancy is based in UNRWA Headquarters in Amman, Jordan, and is expected to last for a duration of up to 12 months. The selected candidate will receive a monthly remuneration equivalent to A13 Step 1, amounting to JOD 913.76 for each fully completed month.
