Job Overview: The Human Resources Assistant plays a crucial role within the OHCHR, specifically in the Programme Support and Management Services (PSMS) and Human Resources Management Section (HRMS). The assistant will evaluate and screen applications for various positions, coordinate travel arrangements and visa matters for selected candidates, and advise staff on visa-related issues. In terms of staff development, the assistant will help organize training courses and workshops, providing logistical and administrative support to trainers. General office support duties include drafting correspondence, maintaining reference files, scheduling appointments, conducting research on HR-related issues, and preparing reports. The assistant may also provide guidance to less experienced staff and perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. A first-level university degree or higher can reduce the required work experience from five years to three years. The position requires at least five years of experience in human resources management, administrative services, staff development, or training. Experience in managing training programs and maintaining compliance data for reporting is essential, along with experience in supporting staff development activities. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of HR policies and practices and possess the ability to apply them effectively in an organizational setting.
Educational Background: The minimum educational requirement for this position is a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional Notes: This position is temporarily available for three months, with the possibility of extension, subject to the availability of funds. It is subject to local recruitment, meaning that applicants must be authorized to work for the United Nations in Geneva. Selected candidates from outside the duty station will be responsible for their relocation expenses.
