The primary responsibility of the Team Leader is to provide high-quality supervision, support, and leadership to a team of three practitioners who are focused on delivering specialist domestic and family violence and child-focused case management and outreach services. The role emphasizes effective leadership, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and active participation in the Southern Queensland DFV Programs leadership team. The Team Leader will be instrumental in fostering a collaborative and outcome-driven culture, ensuring that the services provided meet client and contractual obligations while also promoting staff wellbeing and child safeguarding.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Team Leader will be responsible for a variety of duties, including:
Providing effective leadership to a team of practitioners, including feedback, direct supervision, coaching, and performance management throughout the employee lifecycle.
Ensuring timely and accurate monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on programmatic inputs, deliverables, and outcomes.
Maintaining effective stakeholder relationships by liaising with local communities, professionals, service providers, and referral services.
Identifying, managing, and monitoring risks to program/service delivery, quality, staff wellbeing, and child safeguarding.
Actively contributing to the Southern Queensland DFV Programs leadership team and participating in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, or a relevant Human Service Qualification. Alternatively, significant experience managing a similar service may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications. Additionally, candidates should have knowledge of best practices, professional standards, legislation, and relevant research in the field of domestic and family violence. Experience in coaching, mentoring, and transferring skills and knowledge to others is also required. A current valid driver’s license is mandatory for this position.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a relevant qualification in Human Services.
