Job Overview: The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating procurement and logistics operations at the area level. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient, compliant, and timely delivery of program support. The Logistics Coordinator manages key logistics functions, including procurement planning, fleet management, warehouse operations, asset management, and market analysis, all in accordance with organizational policies and donor requirements. The position requires effective coordination with program teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders to promote transparency, cost-efficiency, and accountability across all logistics processes. The Logistics Coordinator also supervises logistics staff, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting for audit purposes, and supports operational planning.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Logistics Coordinator has a wide range of responsibilities, including implementing delegated areas of logistic responsibility and delivering various procurement and logistics-related activities. Key duties include:
Ensuring adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, SOPs, and donor requirements.
Implementing NRC’s logistic systems and procedures at the area level.
Coordinating timely operational planning and management of logistics activities.
Ensuring local SOPs regulate procedures at the field office level and performing periodic checks.
Coordinating market analysis/assessment within the scope and request of program/project developers.
Preparing and submitting reports and analysis.
Ensuring proper filing of all support documents.
Supporting line managers in procedures and training related to logistics and non-logistics.
Promoting anti-corruption, transparency, and cost efficiency in all processes. 1
Ensuring safe and efficient transport of staff and materials/goods. 1
Promoting the rights of refugees and displaced individuals in line with the advocacy strategy. 1
Extracting key learnings from operations regarding protection and incorporating them into program strategy and staff development processes. 1
Leading and monitoring ongoing and foreseen procurement in line with NRC’s SOP and Logistics Handbook. 1
Reviewing contracts, purchase orders, payments, and relevant verifications to ensure compliance. 1
Monitoring NRC’s procurement archive for proper documentation for audit purposes. 1
Developing project procurement plans and ensuring their efficient implementation. 1
Submitting monthly logistics KPIs reports based on the latest updates of procurement, fleet, warehouse, and assets. 1
Coordinating with other divisions to ensure procurement processes align with project deadlines and NRC’s logistics and financial rules.
Required Qualifications: The position requires several qualifications, including:
Experience working as a Logistics Coordinator in a humanitarian or recovery context.
Previous experience in complex and volatile environments.
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
Knowledge of leadership skills and profiles.
Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
A valid driver’s license.
Context-related skills, knowledge, and experience, particularly in the Iranian market.
Capability in people and team management, conflict management skills, and knowledge of logistics and procurement processes.
Educational Background: Candidates should possess a university degree, preferably in industrial engineering, management, business administration, marketing, or a related field. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of logistics and procurement in a humanitarian context.
Experience: Candidates should have relevant work experience in supply chain management, including procurement, price negotiation, contract management, asset management, car fleet management, warehouse operations, and market analysis. Experience in training others, facilitating workshops, and transferring knowledge is also important.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and verbal. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the region may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with local stakeholders and partners.
Additional Notes: The position may involve working in a full-time capacity, with responsibilities that require a high level of commitment and engagement. The Logistics Coordinator will be expected to work closely with various stakeholders, including UN agencies, local NGOs, governmental bodies, contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
