Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Programme Officer include assessing and analyzing the needs of forcibly displaced and stateless persons using an Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective. The officer will support the development of multi-year protection and solutions strategies and annual plans, ensuring compliance with UNHCR's planning parameters. Responsibilities also include reviewing and analyzing plans and reports from UNHCR offices, ensuring quality assurance and adherence to established policies. The Programme Officer will broaden partnerships with key stakeholders to enhance the protection response for displaced persons and ensure consistent application of partnership frameworks. Additionally, the officer will contribute to monitoring approaches and tools, identify gaps in programming, and oversee the follow-up of audit observations related to programmatic issues. The role also involves risk management and decision-making based on identified risks and opportunities.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with an undergraduate degree, 5 years with a graduate degree, or 4 years with a doctorate degree. Candidates must demonstrate experience in program management, particularly in humanitarian contexts, and possess sound knowledge of Results-Based Management. Familiarity with UNHCR's operational context and the principles of protection in programming is essential. Experience in inter-agency coordination and program management training is desirable, as is a background in conducting Joint Needs Assessments.
