Job Overview:
The Registration Associate plays a critical role within the Registration team, primarily supervised by the Registration Officer. This position is essential for supporting all activities related to the registration of refugees and asylum seekers, ensuring that the registration process effectively identifies specific protection needs and contributes to the management of operations. The Registration Associate is responsible for overseeing the registration processes, which include conducting interviews, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the delivery of quality population data. The role requires a proactive approach to managing registration activities and addressing the needs of vulnerable populations, including those with specific protection needs. The Registration Associate must also demonstrate strong project management skills to contribute to successful outcomes for clients, ensuring that registration activities align with UNHCR's standards and guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Registration Associate include assisting in the implementation of registration strategies and methodologies for populations of concern, supervising the daily activities of the registration team, conducting registration interviews, providing counseling to asylum seekers and refugees regarding registration procedures, maintaining accurate records and data related to registration cases, identifying individuals with specific needs for timely referral to protection follow-up, collaborating with protection staff and partners in the delivery of assistance, drafting correspondence and reports related to registration activities, providing statistics and reports as requested, making decisions related to the day-to-day operations of the registration unit, and supporting the identification and management of risks while seeking opportunities to enhance objectives in the area of responsibility. The Registration Associate is also expected to perform other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of two years of knowledge and experience, preferably in the working context of SO Mafraq, including experience working with refugees in camps and host communities. They should have demonstrated experience in leading, managing, or overseeing teams, particularly in conducting registration activities. Extensive experience in utilizing IT software relevant to registration and documentation purposes is required, including familiarity with proGres, BIMs application, RAIS, and strong knowledge of Excel and data management tools. Candidates must also have a proven ability to use project management skills effectively to contribute to successful outcomes for clients. Fluency in both English and Arabic, both spoken and written, is essential, and candidates with Jordanian nationality are strongly encouraged to apply.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a High School Diploma with three years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education with two years of relevant work experience. While specific fields of education are not applicable, candidates with certifications in social sciences, statistics, mathematics, or information technology are preferred. Relevant job experience is essential, particularly in data management and international protection principles.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience, preferably in a context similar to that of SO Mafraq, with a focus on working with refugees and asylum seekers. Candidates should have experience in leading teams and managing registration activities, as well as a strong background in utilizing IT systems for data management and registration purposes. Experience in project management and working with UNHCR systems is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position, as both languages are essential for effective communication with refugees and asylum seekers. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
