Job Overview:
The Senior Movement Operations Associate position is crucial for overseeing and managing the organized movement of migrants and refugees under IOM's auspices in Lebanon. This role involves coordinating with various units to ensure the safe and efficient return of individuals, particularly Syrians, to their final destinations in Syria. The position requires strong leadership skills, as the associate will supervise teams responsible for beneficiary-facing activities and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures. The associate will also be responsible for liaising with external partners, managing transportation logistics, and ensuring that vulnerable individuals receive the necessary support during their movements. This role is vital for maintaining the integrity of IOM's operations and ensuring that all activities align with the organization's policies and guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Movement Operations Associate will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including supervising staff involved in beneficiary-facing activities, overseeing field support operations, coordinating transportation logistics, and ensuring the provision of essential items to beneficiaries. The associate will lead the collaboration with relevant IOM units and service providers to maintain high standards of quality in assistance provided. Additionally, the associate will monitor cases with special needs, ensure compliance with IOM policies, and coordinate pre-departure formalities such as travel document processing. The role also involves providing selection mission support, liaising with government agencies, and managing unexpected issues that may arise during operations. The associate will be expected to uphold IOM's standards of conduct and maintain confidentiality in all operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma with seven years of relevant work experience or a Bachelor's degree in Social Science, International Relations, Regional Studies, or a related field with five years of relevant work experience. Experience in movement operations, transportation management, and supervising teams is strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and troubleshooting skills are also essential for this role.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. The degree should be in a relevant field such as Social Science, International Relations, or Regional Studies, which provides a solid foundation for understanding the complexities of migration and movement operations.

Experience:
The position requires significant experience in movement operations, particularly in resettlement programs. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing multiple teams and communicating effectively with beneficiaries and external partners. Experience in handling complex cases and workflow, as well as filling management-level roles, is highly desirable. Previous work experience in programs with a movement operations component is also essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both oral and written. Additionally, oral and written fluency in Arabic is required based on operational needs. Knowledge of IOM's official languages, which include French and Spanish, is considered an asset. Language proficiency will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

This position is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for Lebanon will be considered. The appointment will be contingent upon medical fitness certification and verification of residency and visa requirements.
