Job Overview: The People & Culture Assistant (RAS) position is part of a batch vacancy announcement for multiple upcoming GS-5 level roles within the Recruitment Administrative Services (RAS) at UNICEF. The assistant will work under the close supervision of the People & Culture Officer, ensuring compliance with UNICEF HR rules and regulations while delivering timely and accurate services. The position requires liaising with Business Partners and Hiring Managers throughout the recruitment process, monitoring the full life-cycle of recruitment, and maintaining talent pools. The assistant will also coordinate interview arrangements and manage communications with candidates, ensuring a high-quality recruitment experience.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the People & Culture Assistant (RAS) include:
Supporting recruitment by delivering services to designated client groups within expected service level agreements (SLAs).
Liaising with Business Partners and Hiring Managers during the recruitment process, including longlisting candidates and coordinating assessments.
Acting as the focal point for candidates throughout various recruitment stages.
Monitoring the full life-cycle of the recruitment process, including arranging online assessments and coordinating interview schedules.
Informing unsuccessful candidates through timely system notifications.
Maintaining talent pools and keeping abreast of recruitment-related policies and procedures.
Escalating any non-compliance issues to the People & Culture Officer.
Collaborating with GSSC HR Administration Onboarding as necessary.
Required Qualifications: The minimum requirements for the People & Culture Assistant (RAS) position include:
Completion of secondary education (high school diploma) is required.
A minimum of five years of relevant work experience in human resources administration, with at least one year in recruitment administration or talent management support.
A completed university degree from an accredited institution can substitute for part of the work experience requirement.
Candidates with a bachelor's degree in relevant fields require a minimum of two years of relevant experience, while a relevant master's degree may replace an additional two years of experience.
Proficiency in computer usage and familiarity with standard office software tools (e.g., MS Office, enterprise databases) is essential.
Strong oral and written communication skills, effective workload management, and a customer-oriented service approach are necessary.
Educational Background: The educational background required for the People & Culture Assistant (RAS) position includes a minimum of a high school diploma. A university degree in human resources, business administration, or related fields is desirable and can contribute to meeting the work experience requirements. Additional university-level courses in relevant areas are also considered beneficial.
Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of five years of relevant work experience in human resources administration, with at least one year specifically in recruitment administration or talent management support. Experience in planning, organizing, and delivering administrative support services is highly desirable, particularly within a development organization. Familiarity with UN/UNICEF's rules, regulations, and procedures is considered an asset.
Languages: Fluency in English (both verbal and written) is mandatory for this position. Desirable language skills include intermediate proficiency in French, Spanish, or Arabic, as well as knowledge of additional UN languages such as Chinese or Russian, which are considered assets.
Additional Notes: The People & Culture Assistant (RAS) position is expected to work eight-hour shifts between 7 am and 7 pm, five days a week, accommodating the time zone of the respective region. Working on Sundays with a compensatory day off may also be required. UNICEF offers an attractive remuneration package with competitive salary and benefits.
