Job Overview:
The SRH / Maternal Health Analyst position is crucial for supporting the planning, implementation, and monitoring of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) programs in Kassala, Sudan. The analyst will work closely with state office staff, government counterparts, and implementing partners to contribute to the formulation and execution of reproductive and maternal health programs. This role involves collaboration with various program units to ensure synergies and effective implementation of the UNFPA work plan. The analyst will also be responsible for providing technical assistance, establishing collaborative relationships, and addressing emerging issues in SRHR, particularly in the context of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan. The position requires a commitment to achieving UNFPA's mandate and delivering high-impact results in a challenging environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The SRH / Maternal Health Analyst will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including: providing quality programmatic and technical support to implementing partners; facilitating the work of consultants and experts; contributing to the achievement of program results in SRH interventions; designing, planning, implementing, and monitoring program initiatives; reporting on project progress and conducting field visits; implementing knowledge management strategies; monitoring program and financial implementation; supporting the development of national capacities in SRH; reviewing laws and policies related to SRHR; participating in communication and advocacy efforts; leading the subnational SRH Working Group; and ensuring that SRH and maternal health supplies reach intended health facilities. The analyst will also be responsible for monitoring stock and identifying gaps affecting access and quality of care, as well as carrying out any other duties as required by UNFPA leadership.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in Public Health, Medicine, Health Sciences, or a related discipline. They should have at least 2 years of relevant professional experience in sexual and reproductive health, maternal health, or population activities, with progressively increasing responsibilities. Experience in program/project implementation, knowledge of the national health system, and familiarity with quality of care and human rights in SRH are essential. Candidates should also have experience in culturally sensitive programming, knowledge of the Minimum Initial Service Package for Reproductive Health, and demonstrated experience in program planning, monitoring, and evaluation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, including the ability to create and manage spreadsheets and analyze data effectively.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree in Public Health, Medicine, Health Sciences, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary knowledge and skills to address the complexities of sexual and reproductive health and maternal health issues in a challenging environment.

Experience:
The position requires at least 2 years of relevant professional experience at the state or national level in the field of sexual and reproductive health, maternal health, or population activities. Candidates should have progressively increasing responsibilities and experience in program/project implementation, including involvement in multi-sector initiatives and supporting proposal development. Knowledge of the national health system and models for health service provision is crucial, as is experience in culturally sensitive programming and the ability to provide programmatic support and contribute to quality results.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of other official UN languages is considered an asset, as it may enhance communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders and partners in the region.
