Job Overview:
The Communication and Event Coordinator position is situated within the Member Services and Promotion (MSP) Branch of the ISSA. This role is pivotal in supporting the organization's communication strategies, particularly in relation to the upcoming 100-year centenary celebration of the ISSA. The incumbent will report directly to the Director of MSP and will collaborate closely with the Head of Communications and the Events Coordinator. The primary responsibilities include executing communication activities, managing logistics for events, and contributing to the overall engagement strategy of the ISSA. The role requires a proactive approach to developing communication outputs, engaging with external service providers, and ensuring that all activities align with the ISSA's branding and strategic objectives. The successful candidate will also be involved in drafting various types of content, managing correspondence, and utilizing the ISSA's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track and report on activities, thereby playing a crucial role in enhancing the visibility and impact of the ISSA's initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communication and Event Coordinator will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: assisting the Head of Communications in the development and execution of communication outputs related to the ISSA's centenary plans; contributing to the research, conception, planning, and implementation of communication activities; liaising with external service providers such as designers and consultants; drafting news articles, web content, and social media posts; supporting event logistics by managing correspondence with members and speakers; producing materials in accordance with the ISSA style-guide; updating the ISSA CRM system as necessary; formatting and proofreading reports and documents; and performing other relevant operational support activities as required. The role may also involve working in task-oriented teams to contribute to various ISSA activities, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in a relevant field such as communications, marketing, or event management. A master’s degree in a related subject would be considered an advantage. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and engaging content tailored to diverse audiences. Proficiency in creating promotional materials and effectively implementing social media communications is essential. Candidates should also have a solid understanding of organizational branding and editorial standards, as well as administrative procedures.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in communications, marketing, event management, or a related field. A master’s degree in a relevant subject is advantageous and may enhance a candidate's application. The educational background should provide a strong foundation in the principles of effective communication and event coordination, equipping the candidate with the necessary skills to excel in this role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of one year of relevant experience in communications. This experience should ideally involve working in a similar role where the candidate has developed skills in drafting content, managing events, and engaging with various stakeholders. Experience in a multicultural environment and familiarity with social security or international organizations would be beneficial, as it would provide context for the candidate's work within the ISSA.

Languages:
Candidates must have an excellent command of English and a very good knowledge of a second working language, which can be either French or Spanish. Additionally, a working knowledge of the other two working languages of the ISSA (French/Spanish or German) would be considered an advantage, as it would facilitate communication with a broader range of stakeholders and enhance the candidate's effectiveness in the role.

Additional Notes:
The position is a fixed-term contract for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal for an additional 12 months, subject to various conditions including availability of funds and satisfactory performance.
