Job Overview:
As a Scientist at CERN, you will engage in scientific programmes as an established and experienced scientist with a pre-existing professional relationship with the organization. Your role will involve utilizing CERN's advanced research facilities to contribute to both experimental and theoretical particle physics, as well as related fields such as applied physics, electronics, computing, and engineering. You will be expected to actively participate in large-scale international scientific activities, bringing your expertise to collaborative projects and contributing to the scientific community at CERN. Duties and Responsibilities:

Experience:
Candidates should have significant experience in scientific research or advanced technical activities, ideally with a focus on particle physics or related fields. Previous involvement in international collaborations and large-scale scientific projects will be advantageous. The ability to work independently as well as part of a team is crucial, along with a demonstrated capacity for innovative thinking and problem-solving.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of French is highly desirable. Effective communication skills in a scientific context are essential for collaboration and dissemination of research findings.

Additional Notes:
The application deadline for this position is set for 15th February 2026 at 23:59 Geneva Time. The ideal start date for the successful candidate is 1st July 2026, with a contract duration of up to 12 months, which may be extended to a maximum of 24 months based on performance and project needs. The position is fully onsite, requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week. A competitive subsistence allowance ranging from 6683 to 9465 Swiss Francs per month will be provided, tax-free, depending on experience. Additional benefits include authorized absences, family supplements, and travel expenses to Geneva upon joining CERN.
