Job Overview:
The Agricultural Officer (Locust Monitoring and Forecasting) plays a crucial role in managing FAO's global Desert Locust early warning and forecasting system. This position involves collecting and analyzing meteorological and locust infestation data to provide forecasts and relevant advice to countries vulnerable to locust threats. The officer will be responsible for conducting research, producing technical reports, and collaborating with various teams to enhance the effectiveness of locust management strategies. The role requires a blend of technical expertise in GIS and pest management, along with strong communication skills to engage with international stakeholders and promote best practices in locust control.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Agricultural Officer will manage the Desert Locust Information Service, conducting assessments and forecasts of locust breeding and migration.
