Job Overview:
The Senior Manager, Digital & Applied AI, will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and execution of the Digital for Development & AI portfolio. This position requires collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, including government entities, philanthropic organizations, and the private sector in India. The Senior Manager will oversee interventions supported by the Digital for Development & AI team, ensuring alignment with the Foundation's long-term strategies. The role involves leading critical Digital & Applied AI initiatives that are essential to the program teams and may have cross-cutting implications. The position is based at the Foundation's India Country Office in New Delhi and reports directly to the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Deputy Director of Digital & AI within the Digital Innovation, Health R&D, and AI cluster.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager will provide leadership on all Digital & Applied AI interventions led or supported by the D4D & AI team across all active program areas at the India Country Office. Responsibilities include contributing to the development and execution of program strategies, refining approaches for D4D & AI initiatives, and developing partnerships for digital collaboratives at both national and state levels. The role also involves working with partner organizations and government stakeholders to enhance capacity building efforts in Digital & Applied AI. The Senior Manager will manage investments related to D4D & AI, conduct thorough analyses of grants and contracts, and synthesize results for leadership. Additionally, the position requires identifying synergies between Digital & Applied AI work and health innovation priorities, mentoring the Digital & Applied AI team, and maintaining relationships with key government ministries. The Senior Manager will also develop and evolve the 'AI for Good' strategy for India and represent the Foundation in public engagements related to Digital & Applied AI.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or relevant advanced degree in fields such as health, technology, digital, or business administration, along with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring large-scale Digital & Applied AI initiatives. Extensive experience in the Digital & Applied AI sector, particularly at a State or National level, is essential. Familiarity with India’s AI and digital ecosystem is crucial, as is experience in managing a portfolio of grants or contracts focused on digital development. Strong organizational skills, initiative, and the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively are required, along with a passion for solving complex problems through digital innovation, particularly in health.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree or an advanced degree in relevant fields such as health, technology, digital, or business administration. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of Digital & Applied AI initiatives and their implementation in health and development contexts.

Experience:
The position requires at least 10 years of relevant experience in the Digital & Applied AI field, particularly in developing and implementing large-scale initiatives. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing complex digital projects and programs, with experience in risk mitigation and achieving clear milestones and outcomes.
