Job Overview:
The Healing and Wellbeing Worker position is a full-time, permanent role that involves travel across Mornington Island, Doomadgee, and Normanton. The primary function of this role is to work with men who use violence in their relationships through both individual and group programs, adhering to the Domestic and Family Violence Services' practice principles, standards, and guidance. The worker will also provide court-based information for men at the Mornington Island, Doomadgee, and Normanton courts on days when domestic and family violence matters are heard. The core focus of this service is to prioritize the safety of victims and survivors and their children, while promoting healing and wellbeing within the community.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Healing and Wellbeing Worker will be responsible for creating and utilizing culturally appropriate tools to engage participants in the program, ensuring that the entire family is engaged and supported throughout the process. The worker will promote healing and wellbeing within individuals and the community, and will be tasked with creating effective referral pathways to other services. Additionally, the worker will need to demonstrate the ability to understand the unique challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and their place within the community, while maintaining strong interpersonal skills to foster trust and collaboration.
