Job Overview:
The position involves providing maintenance services for generators and electrical systems as part of a project managed by UNDP in Guinea-Bissau. The contractor will be responsible for conducting regular maintenance checks, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that all electrical equipment is functioning optimally. The assignment is set for a duration of 10 months, from March to December 2026, and requires the contractor to submit proposals through the UNDP supplier portal.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of generators and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults and issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure that electrical systems meet project requirements and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards during maintenance activities.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project staff regarding electrical systems.
• Assist in the procurement of necessary parts and materials for maintenance activities.
• Prepare reports on maintenance activities and suggest improvements for future operations.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in electrical maintenance, particularly with generators.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to interact with project teams and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in electrical maintenance.

Educational Background:
A technical diploma or degree in electrical engineering or a related field is required. Additional certifications in generator maintenance or electrical systems would be an advantage.

Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance, specifically with generators, is required. Experience working in international development or with UN agencies is a plus.

Languages:
Fluency in Portuguese is mandatory, as it is the official language of Guinea-Bissau. Proficiency in English is also desirable, as it may be necessary for communication with international teams and documentation.

• This is a full-time position, and the contractor will be expected to work on-site in Bissau. Compensation details will be provided upon selection, and the position is open to both national and international candidates.
