Job Overview:
The temporary position is situated within the Investigation and Inspection Unit of the Office of Internal Audit and Oversight (IAO) at the ILO. The IAO is tasked with conducting internal audits, inspections, and evaluations to assess the effectiveness of the organization's governance, risk management, and internal control systems. Additionally, the IAO investigates financial and administrative misconduct, ensuring accountability and integrity within the organization. The primary responsibilities of this role include monitoring and analyzing data in preparation for investigations, supporting investigators by gathering evidence, and drafting reports and summaries post-investigation. The position is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the ILO's operations and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the Integrity Hotline and the IIU mailbox, triaging allegations received and providing standard responses or escalating as necessary according to established procedures.
  • Prepare case openings upon receipt of allegations, offering suggestions for action for consideration by the supervisor and the Director of IAO. Participate in Intake Committee meetings and conduct pre-investigation planning by analyzing various data and documents to identify anomalies.
  • Support investigators with their caseloads under the supervision of the Lead Investigator and the Chief of the Investigation and Inspection Unit.
  • Conduct preliminary work, including taking statements from complainants and witnesses during the initial stages of investigations.
  • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in law or a closely related field. This educational background is essential for understanding the legal frameworks and principles that govern investigations and administrative procedures within the ILO.
