This position requires a proactive approach to gather information on legal frameworks regarding the right to work, support socioeconomic surveys, and participate in assessments that inform interventions and identify funding opportunities. The LEI Assistant will also provide technical assistance on market-based livelihoods interventions and prepare reports to recommend actions that enhance refugee economic inclusion.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the LEI Assistant include:
Exploring partnerships with relevant stakeholders to enhance the economic inclusion of UNHCR Persons of Concern (PoC).
Collaborating with economic development agencies to adapt their programs for inclusivity.
Engaging with the private sector to improve the inclusion of UNHCR PoC in labor forces and supply chains.
Working with financial service providers to promote financial inclusion for refugees.
Supporting the implementation of socioeconomic and wealth ranking surveys to inform targeting and monitoring of development programs.
Participating in assessments with private and public stakeholders, including impact assessments on local economies.
Providing technical assistance on livelihoods interventions to ensure they are market-based.
Liaising with partners and authorities on livelihoods-related issues.
Preparing field reports and making recommendations for interventions to enhance refugee economic inclusion. 1
Performing other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a strong understanding of the livelihoods sector and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
