Job Overview: The internship-programme" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Internship Programme at FAO is designed to attract talented young individuals who are motivated to share their innovative ideas and academic experiences in the fields related to FAO's work. Interns will have the opportunity to supplement their academic knowledge with practical work assignments that align with FAO's mission. The programme aims to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals and FAO's Strategic Framework, particularly in transforming agri-food systems to be more efficient, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable. Interns will report to assigned supervisors and will be involved in various fields of work based on their profiles and the organization's needs. This role is crucial for contributing to better production, nutrition, environment, and overall quality of life, ensuring that no one is left behind in the process.
Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will perform tasks as specified in the Terms of Reference (TOR) prepared by the hiring office. Responsibilities may include conducting research, assisting in project implementation, participating in meetings, and contributing to reports and presentations. Interns are expected to engage actively in their assigned tasks and collaborate with team members to achieve project goals. They will also be involved in learning opportunities that enhance their understanding of FAO's operations and objectives, while contributing to the organization's mission of combating hunger and promoting food security.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate degree programme at an accredited institution. They should specialize in a field relevant to FAO's mission and work. A working knowledge of at least one FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish) is required, and knowledge of a second FAO language is considered an asset. Educational Background: Candidates must be enrolled in or have recently graduated from a recognized educational institution, with qualifications that are acknowledged by the World Higher Education Database (WHED).
