Job Overview:
The Mechanical Technician position at CERN involves working within the Beam Instrumentation group, focusing on the production of Beam Loss Monitors for CERN's injectors and the High Luminosity LHC. The role is designed for individuals who are passionate about challenging projects in beam instrumentation and offers a stimulating environment that promotes skill development in precision mechanics, assembly, vacuum testing, logistics, quality control, problem-solving, documentation, and production ramp-up. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for conducting acceptance tests of incoming subcomponents, assembling Beam Loss Monitors, performing vacuum tests, and documenting all production steps. Additionally, the technician will manage logistics and address any problems that arise during the production ramp-up process. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and quality assurance throughout the production cycle, ensuring that all components meet the required standards before they are integrated into larger systems.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have up to 2 years of experience in at least two of the following areas: quality assurance, documentation, vacuum technician work, mechanical assembly and machining (either conventional or CNC), and logistics. The ability to read mechanical drawings and perform assembly work with a strong focus on product quality is essential. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a larger team are also required. A valid driving license is necessary for this position.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is a general secondary education diploma. Candidates must be nationals of a CERN Member or Associate Member State and should have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Applicants with a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree are not eligible for this position.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a maximum of two years of professional experience in relevant fields since their graduation. This experience should encompass at least two of the specified areas of expertise, ensuring that the technician is well-prepared to handle the responsibilities of the role effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and the ability to work in French is considered an advantage. Candidates should be committed to learning French if they do not already possess proficiency in the language. Strong spoken and written English skills are essential for effective communication within the team and for documentation purposes.

Additional Notes:
