Job Overview:
The Consultant National position at UNICEF Mali involves supporting the International Consultant in the development of analytical reports regarding the situation of children and social services related to key interventions. The role is crucial in addressing the deprivations identified in the 2025 Situation Analysis (SitAn) of children and women in Mali. The consultant will engage in regular data collection, evidence production, and documentation of initiatives to ensure that interventions lead to positive changes for children. The position requires working closely with various stakeholders, including government partners and communities, to enhance their capacities and ensure effective implementation of UNICEF's programs in health, education, child protection, and social protection.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Consultant National will be responsible for collecting field data on the situation of children, supporting the production of analytical documents that inform about the current state of basic social services for children and adolescents, and conducting evaluations of these services and community mechanisms. Specific duties include:
  • Conducting regular data collection and analysis to assess the situation of children in the regions of intervention.
  • Assisting in the preparation of reports and documentation that synthesize findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborating with the International Consultant and other stakeholders to ensure the quality and relevance of data collected.
  • Participating in field missions to gather firsthand information and insights.
  • Supporting the evaluation of social services and community mechanisms in health, education, protection, and social protection sectors.
  • Engaging with local communities and government partners to facilitate data collection and ensure the relevance of interventions.
  • Contributing to the planning, monitoring, and evaluation processes of UNICEF's programs.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in statistics or demography. They should have at least 2 years of experience in data collection and analysis, particularly in survey contexts. Strong skills in statistical analysis tools such as SPSS or STATA are essential, along with experience in report writing. Candidates should demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, with proficiency in French being mandatory and English considered an asset.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in statistics or demography. This educational background is crucial for understanding data analysis and interpretation, which are key components of the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in data collection and analysis. This experience should ideally include working with surveys and understanding the complexities involved in data management and reporting.

Languages:
