Job Overview:
The position of Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant at UNICEF is primarily focused on delivering high-quality consultancy services related to monitoring and evaluation processes. The consultant will be responsible for managing their own time and ensuring that all deliverables are submitted according to a specific delivery schedule. This role is largely remote/home-based, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements, but may require occasional visits to the UNICEF office in New Delhi for meetings as agreed with the contract supervisor. The consultant will play a crucial role in assessing the effectiveness of UNICEF's programs and initiatives, ensuring that they align with the organization's mission to protect children's rights and improve their lives. The consultant will be expected to apply their expertise in monitoring and evaluation to provide insights and recommendations that will enhance program effectiveness and impact.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant include, but are not limited to:
  • Developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks for UNICEF programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Conducting data collection, analysis, and interpretation to assess program effectiveness and impact.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports and presentations that summarize findings and provide actionable recommendations for program improvement.
  • Collaborating with UNICEF staff and stakeholders to ensure that monitoring and evaluation activities are integrated into program planning and implementation.
  • Providing technical assistance and capacity building to UNICEF staff and partners on monitoring and evaluation best practices.
  • Ensuring that all deliverables are submitted on time and meet the quality standards set by UNICEF.
  • Participating in meetings and workshops as required to discuss monitoring and evaluation findings and strategies.
  • Staying updated on the latest trends and methodologies in monitoring and evaluation to enhance the effectiveness of UNICEF's programs.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant position should possess the following qualifications:
  • A strong background in monitoring and evaluation, with a proven track record of successfully implementing evaluation frameworks and methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide clear, actionable insights.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly Hindi or other regional languages, is considered an asset and may enhance the candidate's suitability for the role.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy contract is for a duration of 12 months and is deliverable-based, meaning that the consultant will be expected to manage their own time effectively to meet the specified delivery schedule. The position is primarily remote/home-based, but the consultant must be available for occasional meetings at the UNICEF office in New Delhi.
