Job Overview: The MICS Translator and Editor will play a crucial role in the finalization of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) analytical outputs. This position involves translating and editing key MICS products from English into Albanian and Serbian, ensuring technical accuracy and adherence to MICS standards. The consultant will work under the supervision of the Child Rights Monitoring Specialist and collaborate closely with the Kosovo MICS coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">coordination team. The role is essential for producing reliable, internationally comparable data that supports national institutions, academia, and development partners, particularly for marginalized communities. The consultant will be responsible for translating the MICS Survey Findings Report (SFR) template, tabulation packages, and data snapshots, as well as ensuring the suppression of sensitive data tables according to statistical disclosure control rules.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Translate and edit the MICS Survey Findings Report (SFR) template from English into Albanian and Serbian, ensuring correct statistical terminology and alignment with MICS global standards.
Translate and edit the MICS tabulation package, ensuring internal consistency across indicators and modules.
Suppress data tables by working closely with the MICS technical team during data review and validation to apply agreed statistical disclosure control rules.
Translate and edit the final 2025 MICS Survey Findings Report from English to Albanian and Serbian versions.
Translate and edit MICS Data Snapshots from English to Albanian and Serbian versions, ensuring alignment with the approved SFR and tabulation outputs. Specific deliverables include translating the SFR template, tabulation files, and final reports, with timelines ranging from January to May 2026.
Required Qualifications: - Advanced University degree in Demography, Statistics, Social Sciences, Epidemiology, or a related technical field. - At least 5 years of relevant professional experience. - Proficiency in Albanian, Serbian, and English. - Proven experience in translation and editing of technical or statistical reports. - Familiarity with survey data, statistical tables, and official publications. - Prior experience with MICS, DHS, census data, or similar large-scale surveys is a strong asset. - Ability to work under tight deadlines and incorporate multi-stakeholder feedback. - Strong attention to detail and consistency.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as Demography, Statistics, Social Sciences, Epidemiology, or any other related technical discipline. This educational background is essential to ensure the consultant has the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the required tasks effectively.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
