Job Overview:
The Warehouse Management Associate position at WFP is crucial for ensuring the effective management of warehouse operations. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan and manage warehouse operations effectively to ensure safe and efficient storage of all products and supplies.
  • Review and adapt WFP's established warehouse standards and procedures to meet evolving operational needs.
  • Coordinate the receipt and dispatch of goods, ensuring accurate records and reports are maintained for decision-making.
  • Ensure the accuracy of data related to warehouse operations, including identifying discrepancies and generating timely reports on product movements.
  • Manage inventory effectively, including physical stock checks and reporting, to address existing or emerging issues in stock management.
  • Supervise the timely preparation of reports and statistics on warehouse operations to support informed planning and decision-making.
  • Oversee product protection measures, providing guidance and taking initiatives to ensure goods are maintained in good condition and quality control procedures are followed.
  • Regularly assess available warehouse space and design new layouts to meet operational needs while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent and harmonized warehousing services. 1
  • Identify training needs and schedule training sessions to ensure all staff possess the necessary knowledge and skills for their responsibilities. 1
  • Supervise warehouse staff to ensure efficient work practices. 1
  • Perform any other tasks as required by the Supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education and possess a post-secondary certificate in a relevant functional area. Additionally, candidates should have a strong understanding of warehouse management principles and practices, as well as the ability to adapt to changing operational requirements. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate records and reports. Candidates should also demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary education. A post-secondary certificate in a relevant field, such as logistics or supply chain management, is preferred. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding warehouse operations and management principles.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of six years of experience in warehouse management or similar roles. Relevant experience includes managing logistics databases, executing queries related to ongoing shipments, supplies, and inventory management. Experience in administering contracts with third-party service providers, preparing contractual documents, and monitoring budgets is also highly desirable. Candidates should have a proven track record of effectively managing warehouse operations and ensuring compliance with established standards.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly English or local dialects, is considered an asset and may enhance communication with diverse stakeholders.

This position is a Fixed Term contract at Grade 6, with an initial duration of one year, subject to renewal upon successful completion of the probationary period.
