Job Overview: The position of Clinical Psychologist– Technical Lead is a critical role within the UNDP framework, specifically aimed at providing expert psychological support and guidance. The consultant will be responsible for leading technical aspects of psychological services, ensuring that they align with international best practices and UNDP standards. The role requires a deep understanding of mental health issues, particularly in the context of the local population in Lahore, Pakistan. The consultant will work closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations, to develop and implement effective psychological interventions. The assignment is expected to last for a total of 75 working days over a period of five months, commencing from the date of contract signing. The consultant will also be expected to contribute to capacity building efforts within local institutions, enhancing their ability to provide psychological support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide expert clinical psychological services, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for individuals in need of psychological support.
Collaborate with local health authorities and organizations to establish a framework for psychological services that meets the needs of the community.
Conduct workshops and seminars to raise awareness about mental health issues and promote psychological well-being.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of psychological interventions and make necessary adjustments based on feedback and outcomes.
Prepare detailed reports on the progress of psychological services and present findings to UNDP and other stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with ethical standards and guidelines in all psychological practices.
Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on the latest research and practices in clinical psychology.
Required Qualifications:
A valid license to practice as a clinical psychologist in Pakistan.
Extensive knowledge of psychological theories, practices, and interventions.
Proven experience in providing psychological services in a clinical or community setting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex psychological issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
Familiarity with the local culture and mental health landscape in Pakistan is highly desirable.
Educational Background: A Master's degree or higher in Clinical Psychology or a related field from a recognized institution. Additional certifications in specialized areas of psychology, such as trauma-informed care or cognitive behavioral therapy, will be considered an asset.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in clinical psychology, with a focus on providing psychological support in challenging environments. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work independently is essential.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Urdu or other local languages is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with clients and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: The contract duration is for 75 working days over a period of 5 months. This position is classified as an individual contractor role, which may involve flexible working hours. The consultant will be expected to work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to the overall goals of the UNDP in Pakistan. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and additional benefits may be provided as per UNDP policies.
