Job Overview: The Cleaner position at IOM Guinea is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the office premises. The position requires a proactive approach to cleanliness, with daily responsibilities that include cleaning both the interior and exterior of the office, monitoring the functionality of facilities, and assisting with basic office tasks such as photocopying and filing. The Cleaner will also be responsible for managing waste disposal and ensuring that cleaning supplies are adequately stocked, making this role integral to the smooth operation of the office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the office premises, including regular cleaning of floors, walls, ceilings, and windows.
Perform daily cleaning tasks at least twice a day, ensuring all areas are kept in good condition.
Monitor the use of water pumps, toilets, and kitchen facilities, ensuring they are functioning properly and reporting any issues.
Assist various departments with basic office tasks such as photocopying, filing, and scanning as directed by supervisors.
Oversee the septic tank to prevent overflow and notify Admin Finance for timely maintenance.
Inform the Logistics Service when cleaning supplies are running low and ensure requests for new supplies are made.
Manage waste disposal effectively within the office.
Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the Supply Chain Officer or other office needs as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Secondary School Diploma and have training or professional experience in cleaning and hygiene services. Experience working with a cleaning service provider is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the workplace.
Educational Background: A Secondary School Diploma is required for this position. Accredited universities recognized by the UNESCO World Higher Education Database are preferred for any additional qualifications.
Experience: A minimum of two years of professional experience in a cleaning or hygiene-related role is required. Previous experience working for a cleaning service provider is advantageous and will be viewed favorably during the selection process.
Languages: Proficiency in French (both oral and written) is mandatory for all candidates. Knowledge of local dialects and languages in Guinea is considered an asset. Familiarity with English is also beneficial, as IOM's official languages include English, French, and Spanish. Language proficiency will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
