Job Overview: The Monitoring Assistant position at WFP involves supporting the preparation and implementation of monitoring plans for various projects within the designated catchment areas. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Monitoring Assistant include:
Supporting the preparation and implementation of monthly monitoring plans in consultation with the Head of Field Office and Head of RAM.
Monitoring WFP project activities to meet minimum monitoring requirements and support timely project implementation.
Coordinating data collection exercises at the field level in collaboration with the CO Monitoring team and other stakeholders.
Collecting process, output, and outcome monitoring data, including distribution monitoring and qualitative data collection methodologies.
Analyzing collected data and preparing reports to support program reviews and decision-making.
Recording issues identified during monitoring visits and ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
Keeping track of monitoring visits and ensuring comprehensive coverage of activity sites.
Suggesting improvements to field monitoring processes for efficient program implementation.
Providing training for cooperating partners on WFP monitoring tools and methods. 1
Assisting in organizing technical support missions from the CO M&E team. 1
Ensuring alignment of field office monitoring practices with corporate standards and ethical guidelines. 1
Collaborating with the Complaints and Feedback Mechanism manager to provide timely information to beneficiaries. 1
Supporting the supervisor in compiling inputs for field office reports and performing other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Monitoring Assistant position include:
Completion of secondary school education is required.
A post-secondary certificate in a related functional area is desirable.
A bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agricultural economics, agribusiness, rural development, nutrition, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security, statistics, natural resources management, or other related fields is an advantage.
Minimum of 4 years of relevant monitoring and/or operational experience, including project implementation and monitoring activities.
