Job Overview: The Enumerator/Reintegration Support position is integral to the MPRR-SSA Programme, focusing on quality data collection regarding migrants to inform project reporting, program development, and partnerships. The role involves direct supervision by the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and overall guidance from the Programme Coordinator. The Enumerator will be responsible for collecting data that reflects the challenges and experiences of migrants, which are crucial for ensuring the sustainability of the reintegration process. Additionally, the Enumerator will provide documentation and field-related support to the reintegration team, contributing to the overall success of the program.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Enumerator will perform a variety of tasks, including attending mandatory training and assessments, conducting data collection based on project needs, and ensuring adherence to data collection standards. Responsibilities also include the accurate handling and management of data in line with IOM's data protection principles, maintaining and returning all tools and equipment provided for the survey, completing required documentation such as enumerator timesheets and equipment forms within specified timeframes, participating in fieldwork progress meetings and debriefing sessions, supporting the preparation of individual reintegration plans, documenting AVRR files for processing, participating in the handover of beneficiaries' grants, and conducting field visits as necessary. The Enumerator may also be assigned additional duties as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be enrolled in a university degree program, preferably in their final year, or be a holder of a university degree within one year of graduation. Proven experience in Kobo data collection for UN agencies, NGOs, public institutions, or the private sector is essential. Previous experience working with IOM in a similar role is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, along with proficiency in computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes being enrolled in a university degree program or having recently graduated with a degree. This educational requirement ensures that candidates possess the necessary theoretical knowledge and analytical skills to effectively contribute to the data collection and reintegration support tasks.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have proven experience in data collection, particularly using Kobo for UN agencies, NGOs, or similar organizations. Experience working with IOM in a related capacity is highly desirable, as it indicates familiarity with the organization's processes and standards.
Languages: Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Krio or another local language is considered an added advantage. Proficiency in IOM's official languages, which include English, French, and Spanish, will be evaluated during the selection process, potentially through written and/or oral assessments.
Additional Notes: The appointment is contingent upon funding confirmation and the candidate's medical fitness for the role. Verification of residency, visa, and necessary authorizations by the relevant government authorities may also be required. IOM provides coverage for consultants against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan at no cost for the duration of the consultancy. However, IOM does not offer evacuation or medical insurance for non-occupational accidents or illnesses, and consultants must secure their own medical insurance for such cases.
