Job Overview:
The Data Analyst position at IOM Zimbabwe involves supporting the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) analysis and other data-related activities in Zimbabwe. The candidate will work under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Information Management Coordinator, collaborating with relevant units to implement and monitor programming related to information management and DTM. The role requires assisting in the implementation and monitoring of DTM project activities, including data collection operations, training, and data storage. The Data Analyst will be responsible for retrieving, compiling, summarizing, and presenting information/data on specific project topics, monitoring budgets, verifying fund availability, and updating budget-related information. Additionally, the candidate will support administrative coordination of project implementation, liaising with various organizational units and external parties, drafting reports, and organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions. The position requires responding to general information requests and inquiries on data and reports, as well as performing other related duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of DTM project activities, including data collection operations, training, and data storage.
  • Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics.
  • Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget-related information.
  • Support administrative coordination of project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions.
  • Draft monthly and quarterly DTM reports, including analysis of data, report writing, and visualizations.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of DTM tools in Kobo, Microsoft Forms, DHIS2, Google Forms, and other forms of documentation.
  • Organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Respond to general information requests and inquiries on data and reports.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or, Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organizations.
  • Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable groups.
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organizations in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes either a school diploma with four years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in fields such as Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited academic institution. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience:
The position requires relevant professional experience, specifically two years for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or four years for those with a school diploma. Experience should include liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organizations. Additionally, candidates should have experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable groups. Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations or in a multi-cultural setting is considered an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position, both oral and written. IOM’s official languages include English, French, and Spanish. Proficiency in these languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
