Job Overview:
The Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in the implementation of the Helios+ project, which focuses on the integration of third-country nationals into the labor market in the Region of Peloponnese. This position requires close collaboration with national and local authorities, as well as experienced partners, to promote the integration of beneficiaries of international protection and temporary protection into Greek society. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising project activities, ensuring quality service delivery, and monitoring the progress of the project. The role involves developing methodologies, creating tools and materials, and overseeing their implementation to ensure that project objectives are met effectively. The Project Coordinator will also be expected to represent the project in various meetings and collaborate with other project components and stakeholders to achieve common goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Coordinator will have a wide range of duties and responsibilities, including:
  • Supervising and providing guidance to direct reports, ensuring they are well-informed and supported in their roles.
  • Developing methodologies and creating tools, materials, and standard operating procedures to enhance project implementation.
  • Monitoring the quality of services and project activities provided by the project team and implementing partners, conducting physical verifications and reporting findings to senior management.
  • Collaborating with other project components and IOM departments to ensure timely and efficient delivery of project activities.
  • Coordinating communication with implementing partners and service providers to ensure the qualitative delivery of services.
  • Collecting and ensuring the quality of data and means of verification, submitting timely reports to senior management.
  • Continuously assessing project needs and reporting to senior management for informed decision-making.
  • Representing the project in relevant meetings and drafting reports for donors as required.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the National Project Officer or Regional Coordinator.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a combination of knowledge, education, training, and experience to perform the essential functions of the position. This includes strong computer literacy in standard software applications, a commitment to humanitarian principles, and a valid driver’s license with at least five years of driving experience being an advantage. Candidates should demonstrate strong work ethics and a commitment to the values of IOM, including integrity, professionalism, and empathy.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a High School Diploma with a minimum of four years of relevant working experience, or a University degree in fields such as psychology, social work, law, sociology, social anthropology, management, business administration, public administration, or any related field from an accredited academic institution with a minimum of two years of work experience. A Master’s degree in the aforementioned fields will be considered an advantage. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least two years of previous work experience, preferably in a multi-cultural environment. Experience in project management, particularly in the context of migration or integration, will be highly regarded. The ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously is essential for this role.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Greek is required for this position, both oral and written. Proficiency in additional languages such as French or Spanish would be considered an asset, as IOM’s official languages include these. Language proficiency will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Additional Notes:
This position is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for Greece will be eligible for consideration. The appointment will be contingent upon certification of medical fitness, verification of residency, visa, and government authorizations where applicable.
