Job Overview: The Finance and Administrative Assistant position at BISA is designed for a highly motivated and results-oriented individual who will play a crucial role in managing the financial and administrative functions of the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, processing financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Finance and Administrative Assistant will also be expected to guide farm staff on financial procedures and maintain effective communication with various stakeholders, including vendors and local authorities. Duties and Responsibilities: The Finance and Administrative Assistant will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: Timely updating of accounting records, including bank accounting and processing journal entries; performing general ledger farm account reconciliations; ensuring timely payments to vendors, staff advances, and claims; maintaining the book of accounts using accounting software; preparing Bank Reconciliation Statements and other reconciliations on a monthly basis; ensuring compliance with the IT Act, PF, GST, and Labour Act; closing farm books and submitting closing documents to headquarters; executing month-end checklists and controls; guiding farm staff on finance policy procedures; handling and updating the monthly cash book; establishing and maintaining a system of internal controls over financial reporting and compliance; managing internal and external audits and ensuring implementation of audit recommendations; liaising with local banks and other authorities; raising funds requests to the Delhi office; reviewing the asset register prepared by the Operations Assistant; conducting monthly reviews of log books for vehicles; reviewing reconciliations prepared by the Operations Assistant; reviewing quotes and comparative statements before sending them to HQ for issuing Purchase Orders; reviewing labour records and supporting documents before processing payments; preparing consumables valuations; preparing crop valuations in the field; and performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates applying for the Finance and Administrative Assistant position must possess a graduate degree in Commerce or Business Administration from a reputable institution. Additionally, candidates should have 3-4 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, and taxation. Experience in the development sector or not-for-profit organizations is considered an added advantage. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed CA Inter or CMA Inter.
