The Registration and Data Management Associate position is crucial in the context of UNHCR's efforts to transition registration responsibilities to national authorities in Benin. This role involves providing strategic guidance and technical support to ensure that the government complies with UNHCR standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Registration and Data Management Associate include:
  • Providing strategic support to government authorities in implementing SOPs and international registration standards.
  • Building national capacity by training government teams on registration tools such as proGres v4 and BIMS, as well as best practices in data management.
  • Overseeing data management to ensure quality, consistency, and security of information, including producing reliable statistical reports for planning purposes.
  • Ensuring the maintenance and security of servers and databases as applicable.
  • Acting as a liaison between UNHCR, government authorities, and partners to guarantee process integrity and operational efficiency.
  • Identifying needs, anticipating risks, and providing recommendations to improve systems and procedures.
  • Providing strong and timely technical guidance to government partners to facilitate the use of registration and identity management tools while ensuring data integrity and quality.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include: a. Education: A degree in Information Technology, Data Analysis, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Social Science, or a related field is preferred. b. Work Experience: For G6 level, a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma, or 2 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Essential experience includes working with UNHCR systems for registration, data management, and data protection, as well as liaising with government entities and the Data Management community. A thorough understanding of UNHCR's protection mandate and core mission is essential. Highly desirable qualifications include training in international protection principles, experience in drafting Standard Operating Procedures, and a background in international protection.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a degree in Information Technology, Data Analysis, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Social Science, or another relevant field.
