Job Overview:
The Digital and Visual Communications Associate will play a pivotal role in enhancing UNDP Belarus's digital presence and visual storytelling capabilities. This position involves managing social media platforms, overseeing photo and video production, and ensuring project visibility through engaging content. The Associate will work under the guidance of the Deputy Resident Representative and will be responsible for creating high-impact visual content that effectively communicates UNDP's development results. This role also includes contributing to corporate events and campaigns, as well as developing human-interest features that highlight the impact of UNDP's work in Belarus. The Associate will be expected to develop and implement digital content strategies, monitor engagement metrics, and ensure compliance with UNDP's communication standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Digital and Visual Communications Associate will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
  • Digital Communications and Social Media Management: Leading the planning and management of UNDP Belarus's social media channels, creating visually engaging content, and developing digital content calendars and campaign plans.
  • Visual Content Production: Planning, producing, and editing high-quality visual materials such as photos, videos, and infographics to support storytelling and visibility.
  • Website and Digital Platforms Support: Contributing to the maintenance and regular updates of UNDP Belarus's website, ensuring engaging content and optimizing the presentation of stories and campaigns.
  • Events, Campaigns, and Human-Interest Features: Supporting the development of communication materials for senior management, planning corporate campaigns, and documenting key events through photography and video.
  • Knowledge Management: Compiling knowledge products from projects and ensuring proper archiving and dissemination of content. The Associate will also perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a secondary education as a minimum requirement, with a university degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, Marketing, or a related field being advantageous. The role requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with secondary education or 4 years with a bachelor's degree in communications, media relations, journalism, content generation, marketing, or multimedia storytelling. Hands-on experience in managing social media content, photography, and video production is essential. Desired skills include proficiency in photo and video editing software, strong writing and messaging abilities, and familiarity with graphic design applications. Experience in the UN system or international organizations is also preferred.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is secondary education. However, candidates with a bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, or Marketing will be given preference. A strong educational background in these areas will enhance the candidate's ability to perform effectively in the role.

Experience:
The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience for candidates with secondary education or 4 years for those with a bachelor's degree. This experience should be in fields related to communications, media relations, journalism, content generation, marketing, or multimedia storytelling. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in managing social media platforms, producing visual content, and engaging in professional content generation.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Russian is required for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication and engagement with diverse stakeholders and audiences.
