Job Overview: The Community Stabilization Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation and development of community stabilization interventions in Chad. This position involves assisting in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, particularly those related to community-based planning, livelihood initiatives, and social cohesion efforts. The officer will be responsible for retrieving, compiling, summarizing, and presenting information and data on specific project topics to ensure effective project management. Additionally, the officer will monitor the project budget, verify the availability of funds, and obtain necessary approvals while updating budget-related information. The role also includes supporting the administrative coordination of project implementation, which involves liaising with various organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain clearances, and process administrative actions. The officer will assist in monitoring the fieldwork of implementing partners, ensuring timely submission of narrative and financial reports, and drafting status reports that identify shortfalls in delivery. Furthermore, the officer will draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, and other documentation as needed. Organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions will also be part of the responsibilities, along with responding to general information requests and inquiries, and maintaining files and records. The position requires flexibility and the ability to perform other related duties as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the implementation and monitoring of community stabilization project activities, focusing on community-based planning, livelihood, and social cohesion initiatives.
Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics to support project management.
Monitor project budgets, verify the availability of funds, obtain necessary approvals, and update budget-related information.
Support the administrative coordination of project implementation by liaising with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests and obtain necessary clearances.
Process and follow up on administrative actions related to project implementation.
Monitor the fieldwork of implementing partners and support the timely submission of narrative and financial reports.
Draft status reports identifying shortfalls in delivery and bring them to the attention of the supervisor.
Draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, and other forms of documentation as required.

Required Qualifications:
School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.
Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organizations.
Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable groups.
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-governmental or government institutions/organizations in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Experience in community stabilization, peacebuilding, and durable solutions to displacement with a strong emphasis on community-based programming, gender sensitivity, and do-no-harm principles.
Experience in the regions of Kanem, Bar el Gazel, and Batha is preferred.
Educational Background: The position requires either a school diploma with four years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in fields such as Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related areas from an accredited academic institution, along with two years of relevant professional experience.

Languages: The position requires proficiency in English, which is mandatory. Knowledge of French or local languages spoken in Chad would be considered an asset, enhancing communication with local communities and stakeholders.
