Job Overview:
The position of Asistente de Programas at WFP involves supporting the implementation of programs aimed at addressing food security and nutrition challenges in vulnerable populations in Colombia. The role is critical in coordinating programmatic and operational aspects of early recovery projects, which are designed to assist communities affected by conflict, disasters, and climate change. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Senior Programme Associate, ensuring that technical and operational support processes are effectively carried out. This includes conducting food security and nutrition analyses, preparing timely reports on livelihood needs, and supporting capacity-building initiatives for WFP staff, partners, and local communities. The Asistente de Programas will also play a key role in ensuring that programs promote equitable access for both women and men to decision-making spaces and food markets, thereby contributing to the overall mission of WFP to enhance food security and nutrition in Colombia.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the Asistente de Programas include leading food security and nutrition analysis activities, assisting in the preparation of reports on livelihood needs, and supporting capacity-building processes for WFP staff and partners. The incumbent will monitor the budget execution of assigned projects, ensuring the appropriate and timely use of resources, and generating early alerts for potential delays. They will also oversee the management of information shared by partners regarding beneficiaries and resources, ensuring data quality and traceability. Additionally, the Asistente de Programas will prepare technical and narrative reports required by WFP or donors, contribute to internal reports, and follow up on monitoring findings and community feedback. The role requires coordination of field visits and technical missions related to early recovery, as well as supporting other program-related tasks as needed to achieve WFP's strategic objectives.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum requirements for the position include completion of secondary education, with a preference for candidates holding a degree in agricultural sciences, forestry, aquaculture, environmental studies, economics, or related fields. A postgraduate degree in areas related to rural development or food security and nutrition is highly valued. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, experience in project management, and a solid understanding of food security and nutrition issues, particularly in the context of vulnerable populations. Familiarity with humanitarian assistance programs and experience working in complex operational environments are also desirable.

Educational Background:
Candidates are required to have completed secondary education, with a preference for those who have a professional degree in relevant fields such as agricultural sciences, environmental studies, or economics. A postgraduate qualification in rural development or food security and nutrition is considered an asset and will be positively evaluated during the selection process.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of four years of professional experience in rural development or food security and nutrition projects, including diversified production, self-sufficiency, and food marketing. At least two years of specific experience in strengthening agricultural livelihoods with small producers, indigenous communities, or vulnerable populations is essential. Experience in humanitarian assistance programs and operations in complex contexts, particularly involving migrant populations and gender-based violence, will be highly regarded.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with local communities. Intermediate knowledge of English is desirable, as it may facilitate communication with international partners and stakeholders.
