Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Procurement Analyst include:
Supporting the mission of the ELCRU in enhancing the World Bank's engagement with the private sector.
Collaborating with the Accredited Procurement Manager on exchanges with private sector actors and associations.
Organizing events, conferences, and meetings with professional organizations in Europe and beyond.
Serving as the focal point for engagement with European firms, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), and trade associations.
Maintaining an updated list of procurement and business opportunities for the international private sector.
Participating in dialogue with Bank sectors for specific requests to engage with the Bank.
Developing communication strategies to inform the private sector about the World Bank Procurement Change Program.
Identifying and engaging with private sector associations to further the Bank's Private Sector Strategy.
Designing and conducting procurement fairs and private sector engagements. 1
Supporting communications, events, and awareness-raising activities, including writing articles for publication. 1
Collecting and analyzing data on business opportunities in consultation with LAC Procurement Coordinators. 1
Participating in operational missions and providing support to the World Bank LAC Procurement team. 1
Coordinating with other World Bank Group teams based in Rome and Southern Europe to ensure coherence in outreach to the private sector. 1
Preparing analytical notes and quarterly progress summaries on business engagement activities.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Procurement Analyst position include:
A Master's degree in a relevant discipline such as Law, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Business, or Communication, or an equivalent academic qualification.
A minimum of two years of direct relevant professional experience in international business transactions, international commerce, or international affairs.
Proven knowledge of World Bank procurement policy and organization.
Excellent written communication skills in English and Spanish for preparing articles, presentations, and web materials.
Experience working with the Latin American region and the European business market.
Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to work in teams in a multicultural environment.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with good judgment.
