Job Overview:
The Legal Intern position at UNCTAD is designed to provide students or recent graduates with an opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of law" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">international law, particularly in competition and consumer protection law. The internship is unpaid and requires a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week. Interns will work under the guidance of the Head of the Competition and Consumer Policies Branch (CCPB) and will be involved in various tasks such as conducting legal research, assisting in organizing intergovernmental meetings, and supporting technical cooperation activities. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Legal Intern will be responsible for conducting legal and economic research on emerging issues in international law related to competition and consumer protection. The intern will assist in organizing intergovernmental meetings and events, as well as technical cooperation activities related to competition and consumer protection laws and policies. Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). Interns should be computer literate in standard software applications and have a keen interest in the work of the United Nations. They should demonstrate the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and possess a willingness to understand differing opinions and views. A background in law, economics, or related fields is preferred, but no prior work experience is required for this internship.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be pursuing studies in law, economics, development, political science, or other social sciences deemed appropriate for the internship. They should be in the final year of their first university degree (bachelor's or equivalent), or enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program.
