Job Overview: The position of Online Volunteer for Fundraising and Awareness at VVCF involves supporting the organization's mission by enhancing its fundraising and awareness efforts. Volunteers will play a crucial role in mobilizing resources to provide educational support, safe shelter, and basic needs for vulnerable children and families in Uganda. The task requires volunteers to engage in various activities, including creating compelling fundraising content, developing educational materials, and organizing online campaigns to raise awareness about the challenges faced by affected households. Volunteers will not be soliciting donations directly but will focus on promoting the initiative and increasing visibility for VVCF's cause. This role is vital in helping the foundation achieve its goals of uplifting vulnerable communities and restoring dignity and hope to families in need.
Duties and Responsibilities: As an online volunteer, you will be responsible for several key tasks aimed at supporting VVCF's mission. These include:
Resource Mobilization & Fundraising: Creating compelling fundraising content for platforms like GoFundMe and GlobalGiving, drafting proposals to potential donors and partners, and supporting campaign strategies to increase visibility and donor engagement.
Digital Awareness & Advocacy: Developing educational materials that highlight the realities faced by vulnerable families in Uganda, organizing online campaigns to raise awareness, and creating social media content to reach wider audiences.
Research & Documentation: Gathering relevant data to support advocacy and fundraising efforts, writing reports and case studies, and documenting success stories of beneficiary families. Your contributions will directly impact the lives of children and families in need, helping to provide access to education, safe shelter, and essential resources.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Online Volunteer position should possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively create engaging content and proposals. Experience in fundraising, resource mobilization, or advocacy is highly desirable. Volunteers should be self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a remote setting. Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content creation tools will be beneficial. A passion for social justice and a commitment to supporting vulnerable communities are essential qualities for this role.
Educational Background: While there are no specific educational requirements for this volunteer position, a background in communications, social work, international development, or a related field would be advantageous.
