Job Overview: The position of Especialista en Desarrollo Positivo de la Juventud y Agricultura Regenerativa is crucial for the implementation of the Horizontes initiative, which aims to rejuvenate agricultural landscapes in the Western Highlands border region. The specialist will facilitate the integration of youth and women into sustainableagricultural practices, ensuring access to water, soil, and inclusive markets. This role involves close collaboration with various stakeholders, including local communities, public and private sectors, and partner organizations. The specialist will be responsible for executing and monitoring activities that identify, support, and integrate youth into the initiative, while also leading the positive youth development component. The position requires a proactive approach to community mobilization and the effective management of resources allocated for programmatic activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties of the Especialista en Desarrollo Positivo de la Juventud y Agricultura Regenerativa include leading the implementation of regenerative agriculture activities, advising partner organizations on agricultural practices, and developing sustainable land and water management initiatives. The specialist will also conduct training sessions, supervise relationships with stakeholders, and ensure adherence to CRS quality standards. Responsibilities extend to youth development, where the specialist will coordinate youth camps, vocational training, and community engagement initiatives. The role requires constant field visits to monitor progress, facilitate collaboration among youth, and ensure the integration of youth and their families into decision-making processes. The specialist will also prepare reports, analyze trends, and document best practices to support the initiative's objectives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in Agronomy, Social Sciences, or related fields, with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in agriculture, youth development, or related projects, preferably within an NGO context. Experience in implementing methodologies such as Field Schools and rural extension services is essential. Knowledge of the Rural Extension System of MAGA and experience in coordinating with municipal extension agencies will be valued. Candidates should demonstrate technical knowledge in community development and economic development, with the ability to transfer knowledge to rural communities. Proficiency in MS Office and a valid driver's license are required.
