The EZ-Trainee program is a professional development initiative designed to train individuals for roles in German and multilateral development cooperation. The program emphasizes the expansion of management skills and the acquisition of practical work experience in program formation and management. Trainees will undergo a comprehensive 17-month training period that includes four practical phases. The first phase consists of a one-month preparation period, followed by a two-month assignment at the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) in Hannover. This is succeeded by an eight-month deployment in Zambia, focusing on geophysics and integrated water resource management. The program concludes with a four-month assignment at the BMZ. The primary goal of the program is to equip trainees with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute effectively to development projects, particularly in enhancing climate resilience in Zambia's Southern Province.

The specific tasks for the subsequent practical phases will be developed throughout the trainee program, allowing for a tailored experience based on the trainee's interests and the project's needs.

The position requires candidates to have some level of practical experience, which can be demonstrated through internships or relevant work experience in a developing country. This experience should ideally relate to the field of geosciences or development cooperation, showcasing the candidate's ability to adapt to new environments and work effectively in diverse teams.
