Job Overview: The Financial Reporting Lead position is situated within the Financial Systems and Process Support Branch (CFOMS) of the Corporate Finance Division at WFP Headquarters. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of corporate financial reporting, data stewardship, and business intelligence tools. The incumbent will lead the CFOMS reporting team, focusing on delivering accurate and transparent financial reports that comply with organizational standards. The position also involves supporting organizational reporting needs, promoting digitalization, and leading project initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial data extractions, preparing strategic corporate financial reports, and enhancing financial reporting tools to support effective resource monitoring and decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities: The key accountabilities for this role include managing the extraction and publication of financial data in compliance with the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) standards, preparing and delivering corporate financial reports within established timelines, and maintaining and enhancing financial reporting tools such as Business Objects and Tableau dashboards. The Financial Reporting Lead will also support Business Intelligence reporting, act as a process expert for financial and budgetary reporting tools, and provide technical guidance to business focal points. Additionally, the role involves coordinating corporate initiatives, facilitating training sessions for users, promoting digitalization of financial reporting processes, and leading the CFOMS Reporting Team to ensure effective delivery of financial reporting services. Other responsibilities may be assigned as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Statistics, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related fields. Alternatively, a first university degree in the same subjects, combined with specialized qualifications and/or equivalent relevant work experience, is acceptable. The role requires at least 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in finance and reporting, including the implementation and support of financial accounting and management reporting systems. Familiarity with business processes such as general accounts, accounts receivables, accounts payables, fund management, and grant management is essential. Experience in project implementation methodologies and standards is also required.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Statistics, Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting. A first university degree in these subjects, along with specialized qualifications or equivalent work experience, is also acceptable. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of financial reporting and management within the organization.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of postgraduate experience in finance and reporting, with a focus on progressively responsible roles. Candidates should have experience in implementing and supporting financial accounting and management reporting systems, as well as familiarity with various business processes related to finance. This level of experience is necessary to effectively manage the responsibilities of the role and contribute to the organization's financial governance and performance monitoring frameworks.
Languages: Fluency in English (level C) is mandatory for this position. Additionally, candidates should have intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language, which may include Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, or Portuguese. Additional Notes: This is an International Professional position open to all nationalities, classified as 'non-rotational,' meaning the incumbent will not be subject to regular reassignment unless the position is reclassified. The selected candidate will be employed on a fixed-term contract with a one-year probationary period. WFP offers an attractive compensation and benefits package in line with ICSC standards, including basic salary, post adjustment, relocation entitlement, and various allowances. The selected candidate will be required to relocate to Rome, Italy, to take up this assignment.
