Job Overview:
The Digital Solutions Volunteer position is part of the Tech Volunteers for Resilience (Tech4R) programme, which is co-led by the UNDP Istanbul International Centre for Private Sector in Development (ICPSD) and the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme. This initiative mobilizes skilled digital volunteers to co-create open-source solutions that enhance inclusion, resilience, and recovery in Ukraine. The volunteer will contribute to the VidNOVA:UA Programme, a national initiative that engages youth in rebuilding their communities through interregional exchanges. The Digital Solutions Volunteer will play a crucial role in enhancing and sustaining the Digital Map of Youth Exchanges, ensuring it serves as an effective digital tool for community-led development across Ukraine. The role requires collaboration within a multidisciplinary volunteer team to ensure the platform is accessible, accurate, and user-friendly, thereby amplifying the impact of youth-led recovery efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate for the Digital Solutions Volunteer position should have a background in fields related to computer science, information technology, web development, or a related discipline. A degree or coursework in these areas is preferred, but practical experience and demonstrated skills may also be considered.

Experience:
While this is a volunteer position, candidates are expected to have some level of experience in web development and data management. Previous experience working on digital projects, particularly in a volunteer or collaborative environment, is advantageous. Familiarity with open-source tools and platforms will also be beneficial for this role.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the UNDP and the Tech4R programme. Knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian may be considered an asset, as it would facilitate better communication with local stakeholders and enhance the volunteer's ability to engage with the community.

Additional Notes:
This is an unpaid volunteer assignment, and candidates should be aware that it is not an employment opportunity. Volunteers will receive private insurance for the duration of their assignment, covering health, dental, life, and dismemberment through CIGNA. Additional benefits include opportunities for international collaboration and mentorship, skills development in real-world UN-driven projects, and a Certificate of Service that acknowledges their contributions.
