Job Overview: The Programme Analyst in SRH will play a crucial role in coordinating and implementing sexual and reproductive health services in Haiti, particularly in response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis exacerbated by gang violence and displacement. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Humanitarian Coordinator, focusing on the effective delivery of SRH services in the affected areas. This position requires a proactive approach to managing SRH activities, ensuring that they are aligned with UNFPA's strategic goals and the needs of the communities served. The Programme Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the deployment of mobile clinics, coordinating with partner agencies, and ensuring that SRH services are accessible and of high quality. The role also involves capacity building of local health institutions and staff, monitoring and evaluation of program activities, and community engagement to enhance the visibility and effectiveness of UNFPA's interventions in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate and supervise the implementation of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) activities in collaboration with the GBV Project Officer.
Oversee the deployment of mobile clinics, ensuring logistics preparation and medication distribution, and prepare reports on achievements.
Maintain effective coordination of SRH activities with partner agencies and NGOs, including mapping of SRH/GBV partner services.
Supervise planning of SRH activities and expenditures, ensuring compliance with schedules.
Promote coordination between SRH and GBV teams to address challenges and improve field operations.
Ensure high-quality design and implementation of SRH programs, incorporating lessons learned.
Contribute to the implementation of the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for SRH.
Identify training needs and develop capacity-building plans for partner health institutions.
Support training on MISP and clinical management of rape. 1
Establish monitoring systems for SRH service quality and prepare distribution plans for medications and supplies. 1
Strengthen relationships with local authorities and ensure community involvement in program activities. 1
Participate in advocacy and resource mobilization efforts, preparing documentation and attending meetings. 1
Report on program progress and best practices to the Programme Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator.
Educational Background: The position requires a Master's degree in Public Health, Nursing, or Midwifery. This educational background is essential to ensure that the Programme Analyst has the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage and implement sexual and reproductive health programs in a complex humanitarian context. The candidate should have a strong understanding of public health principles, reproductive health issues, and the specific challenges faced in emergency settings.
Experience: Candidates should have substantial professional experience in the reproductive health sector, particularly in managing programs that meet specific health needs in humanitarian contexts. Experience working with international organizations or the United Nations system is considered an asset. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of implementing the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for reproductive health and working in integrated GBV and reproductive health programs. The ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments and within multicultural teams is crucial.
Languages: Fluency in written and spoken French and English is required for this position. Additionally, working knowledge of another UN language is advantageous, and proficiency in Haitian Creole is considered an asset. These language skills are essential for effective communication with diverse stakeholders, including local communities, health personnel, and international partners.
