Job Overview:
The position of IC- Civil Society Organizations Trainer and Mentor involves working closely with civil society organizations to enhance their capacities and effectiveness. The selected candidates will be responsible for designing and delivering training programs tailored to the needs of these organizations. This role requires a deep understanding of civil society dynamics and the ability to mentor and guide organizations in their development processes. The trainers will also be expected to assess the training needs of the organizations and develop appropriate training materials and methodologies. The overarching goal is to empower civil society organizations to better serve their communities and contribute to democratic governance and sustainable development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify the training requirements of civil society organizations.
  • Develop and implement training programs that address the identified needs.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions, ensuring active participation and engagement from participants.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and support to civil society organizations post-training.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments based on feedback.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders, including government agencies and international organizations, to enhance the impact of training initiatives.
  • Prepare reports on training activities and outcomes, documenting lessons learned and best practices.
  • Stay updated on trends and developments in civil society and governance to inform training content.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong facilitation and training skills, with a proven track record of working with civil society organizations. They should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to effectively engage with diverse groups. A solid understanding of the challenges faced by civil society organizations in Albania is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to develop training materials and adapt methodologies to suit different audiences. Experience in mentoring and capacity building is highly desirable, as is familiarity with UNDP's mission and values.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences, international development, or a related field is required. A master's degree would be an advantage. Candidates should have formal training in adult education or capacity building methodologies, which will enhance their effectiveness in this role.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in training and capacity building for civil society organizations. Experience working with international organizations or in a development context is preferred. Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs is essential, along with a strong understanding of civil society dynamics in Albania.

Languages:
Fluency in Albanian and English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset, particularly languages relevant to the local context.

Additional Notes:
This position is offered as a contract for a specific duration, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The roles are part-time, allowing for flexibility in scheduling. The positions are open to both national and international candidates, and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
