Established to promote ICT for development in the Asia-Pacific region, APCICT has developed several flagship programs that focus on training, knowledge sharing, and fostering multi-stakeholder dialogue and partnerships. Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position at APCICT is designed to provide interns with hands-on experience in the field of ICT for development. Interns will work under the supervision of a staff member in the division or office to which they are assigned. The internship is full-time and unpaid, with a minimum duration of two months, extendable up to six months. Interns are expected to work five days a week, totaling more than 34 hours per week. The role involves a variety of tasks that contribute to the organization's mission of promoting ICT for socio-economic development. Interns will have the opportunity to engage in drafting and editing content for public information materials, including social media posts, and will be encouraged to propose new projects for the organization's website and social media platforms. The internship aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the functions and expectations associated with working in an international organization focused on development.
Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will be responsible for a diverse set of duties that include but are not limited to: drafting and editing content for public information materials, including social media posts; proposing new projects for the website and social media platforms; identifying opportunities to reach a wider audience; providing assistance in improving the functionality of the website and e-learning page; checking the website for broken pages or inconsistencies in design; supporting the development of PHP web pages linked with databases and downloading database values in document formats such as Excel spreadsheets; conducting various research tasks as directed by the supervisor, which includes collecting, analyzing, and presenting statistical data and other information from diverse sources; creating and designing reports using dashboards and data visualization tools; supporting the production of e-learning courses by reviewing multimedia content and materials; and assisting in administrative and substantive support for meetings and conferences, including the preparation of background documents and presentations, and handling logistics.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent); or (c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation. While professional work experience is not required for participation in the program, a keen interest in implementing projects and capacity building is considered a definite advantage. This qualification ensures that candidates possess the necessary academic background and motivation to contribute effectively to the organization's objectives.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes being enrolled in or having completed a graduate program or being in the final year of a bachelor's degree program.
