Job Overview: The Digital Content Specialist position is part of UNICEF’s Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) Division, specifically within the Individual Giving (IG) team. This role is crucial for supporting fundraising offices, particularly in Latin America, by planning, developing, and measuring impactful digital campaigns and fundraising products. The IG team aims to transform UNICEF's business model by emphasizing audience-centricity and digital acceleration. The Digital Content Specialist will provide creative leadership in the digital space, develop audience-centric content packages, and deliver capacity-building workshops. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to identify and deliver key fundraising content opportunities, ensuring that strategies are informed by audience insights and data.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Digital Content Specialist will serve as the primary digital content expert for the Latin America and Caribbean Regional Office (LACRO), supporting local markets in creating a robust pipeline of digital content for donor acquisition and engagement. Responsibilities include collaborating with external creative agencies to produce fundraising content for digital campaigns, planning and delivering capacity-building activities to enhance digital skills, coordinating with Country Office teams to align content strategies, sourcing relevant footage and stories for campaigns, and providing creative leadership during emergencies. The specialist will also follow agile methodologies to develop effective solutions and report on content performance, ensuring that all creative assets meet the marketing-plan" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">marketing plan requirements.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong background in digital content planning and development, with a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience. Proven experience in supporting digital campaigns and a strong understanding of content creation tools and digital marketing platforms are essential. Familiarity with reporting on digital content performance and experience in the South American context are advantageous. Knowledge of fundraising principles and donor journeys will also be beneficial. Copywriting skills for fundraising purposes and proficiency in design tools like Canva are considered assets.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree in Marketing, Communication, Advertising, Management, or a related technical field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in digital content planning and development. Candidates should have a proven track record of supporting digital campaigns and a strong knowledge of digital marketing platforms such as Marketing Cloud, Google, and Meta. Experience in reporting on digital content performance and familiarity with the South American context are considered assets, as is prior experience with UNICEF or similar organizations.
Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of other official UN languages would be an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a diverse environment.
Additional Notes: The consultancy contract will involve deliverables that span from February 1, 2026, to January 31, 2027, with payments processed monthly upon acceptance of deliverables. The selected candidate may be required to travel to country offices as needed, with travel expenses covered separately by UNICEF. Candidates must ensure they have valid visas and health insurance for the duration of the contract. Additionally, selected candidates must confirm their fully vaccinated status against COVID-19 prior to starting the assignment, unless they will be working remotely.
