Job Overview:
The Senior Officer, DEI will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for creating and executing strategies that engage and empower communities of change makers to enhance impact. This role involves close collaboration with Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), DEI and Gender Leads, and other key stakeholders, including Human Resource Business Partners (HRBPs) and management teams. The position requires extensive knowledge and experience in advising leaders and community members on DEI strategies and initiatives. The Senior Officer will be instrumental in fostering collaboration and governance across internal communities, ensuring that the foundation's DEI strategy is effectively implemented and aligned with its mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Officer will manage and support staff coordinating DEI engagement and learning initiatives. Responsibilities include enabling the ecosystem of DEI leaders across the foundation, managing DEI planning for teams and divisions, and implementing DEI learning and development opportunities. The role also involves driving the planning, design, development, and management of DEI tools, resources, and events that align with the foundation's objectives. The Senior Officer will ensure the effectiveness of these initiatives in partnership with the measurement, learning, and evaluation teams. Collaboration with various partners across DEI, Partnerships for Impact, the People team, Legal, Communications, Global Policy and Advocacy, and gender integration will be essential to develop solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, along with a minimum of 10 years of experience as a DEI or change management professional. Experience in the philanthropic or non-profit sector is preferred, particularly with an understanding of leveraging philanthropic investments to advance strategic equity goals. Candidates should have deep subject matter expertise in DEI and/or change making within a multinational and multicultural context. Strong strategic thinking skills, the ability to build inclusive culture strategies, and experience working with HR Business Partners and other DEI stakeholders are essential. DEI learning and development experience, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills, are also required.

Educational Background:
A degree in a relevant field is required, with a preference for candidates who have additional certifications or training related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, change management, or organizational development. Advanced degrees may be advantageous but are not mandatory.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 10 years of relevant experience in DEI or change management roles, with a strong preference for those who have worked in the philanthropic or non-profit sectors. Experience in driving change initiatives and working with diverse groups and stakeholders is crucial.

Languages:
While no specific languages are mandated, proficiency in multiple languages may be beneficial, especially in a multinational context. Strong English language skills are essential for effective communication at various organizational levels.

Additional Notes:
This position is full-time and requires the ability to travel and work variable schedules as necessary to support initiatives and stakeholders. The salary range for this role is between $186,400 to $288,800 USD, with higher ranges for positions based in Seattle and Washington D.C. New hires typically start within the range minimum and midpoint, depending on their skills and experience.
